telepathy and prayer
are emissions of energy from the human heart and mind.  It isn't the sole/soul property of a god.

Add "the ability of telepathy" to the mind of man, then

...and the capability to influence external situations through prayer.

Prophets Only?
A well said arguement this time.  However, to clear up the matter--God created Satan, and caste him down to earth "To have dominion and try the souls of man."  How awful, if you believe in such a being as God you also must believe in His creation Satan as well.  It is a foul trap.  The priests and prophets knew how to use fear and violence to maintain their power over the people and the first awful thing they did which separated them "above all others" was to allow for the "mysitcal" communion with god only for themselves--that all other men were mere cattle, dumb, to be fed or slaughtered according to their contributions to the priesthood.  Also, if God could will himself to visit and speak with any man, than why not?  Why not present himself to all men and "walk among them" and teach them really important things, give good social instruction, teach tolerance and love--from the begining on?  Why, when Judaism was about to crumble bacause there was so much opposition and they were integrated with the Roman and Greek societies, where shades of democracy (republic), alternative dieties to invoke for blessings, and well, a more open society, did things CHANGE?  By this time, the Jews were considered a backward people--ignorant--why? because that is how thier religion kept them, that is how the priests maintained their power.  All you have to do is look at the fundalmental religious society of Islam in the world today.  The Isamic religion is facing the same challenge the Jewish people faced, with the same restrictive religious doctrines that put the people in bondage to ancient writings from ancient prophets in ancient times.  Some have managed to escape fundalmentalism and blend their religion with their surroundings.  Saul of Tarsus saw an opportunity to do the same and he took Jesus and carved a new course for Judaism.  Gave it a new name, but the rest remained the same.  Your modern day interpretation of the Holy Ghost is what it has been made into, after centuries of debate and death and torture for those who exercised their own intelligence to determine the truth and the reality of things.  There is no Holy Ghost imparting knowledge and wisdome from God on high, the Holy Ghost IS THE MIND OF MAN--REASON AND JUDGEMENT nor the love of God through Jesus--these are mental constructs out of dark times.  It is time to come into the light of life and welcome yourself to your humanity.

I the Lord Create Evil Is:45:7
Satan created evil. You know what the difference is between the OT and the NT? The 3rd Person of the Godhead. The Holy Spirit. In the OT all 3 persons of the godhead were in Heavan. God could not in any way tabernacle with His people. He could not because of sin. Man was unregenerate and unspiritual and could nor understand spiritual things. Man had no revelation of Satan at that time even though Satan was mentioned in Job. Man had no revelation of Satans charecter or motive or method. Not until Jesus revealed Satan in the NT and then shed His blood and defeated death by escaping hell could the veil be removed from mans heart. God could now once again fellowship and reveal Himself with His creation: Man. That is why Jesus is called the Second Adam because He restored what the first Adam gave up: the ability to commune and fellowship with God. In the OT the only way God could speak to people was by an anointed prophet. But even that prophet only relayed to the people what he had been told, the prophet himself did not understand what he was telling. All God could do was warn his people in the OT because He was on the outside looking in. All that man could understand in the OT was ' I the Lord' and who are you to ask me why? You are not able to understand. If you read the rest of the chapter God says ' who are you man to reply to Me'. No blood of Jesus yet. No remission of sin yet. No regeneration of mans spirit. No Holy Spirt. No understanding of spiritual affairs and realities. God could only say: whatever happens just obey my commandments dont try to understand because you cannot. Do not question just obey. I make evil, OK. Dont worry about where evil comes from right now. Just stick to my umbrella of guidence ( commandments).God was protecting man from following paths of blindness by trying to figure out what man could not figure out so God kept it simple for man. That was the way God dealt with human beings in the OT. Not today. Even Solomom in ECCLESIASTIES said all is in vain, even though he was the wisest man in the world at that point. Even with all his wisdom he came to no conclusion except: the only purpose in life is to reverance God and obey His commandments. The bottom line is God talked to people different in the OT than in the NT because of the absence of the Holy Spirit within mans heart. Now man has the ability to understand what he tried to get illegally in the Garden of Eden but did not receive: THE KNOWLEDGE OF GOOD AND EVIL. Whenever you try to get something without God you always get blindness. This includes KNOWLEDGE of any kind.
