Just for information I just received a similar email, however, it was different in the following ways: the name used is Mr Bramley Churchill and a Kenya airline flight is being used.

I don't know how many of these emails I've gotten
You're right - they're scams, pure and simple. People who reply, and who actually give the "Nigerians" their bank account info in the belief that they will get electronic deposits this way, generally find out that their bank accounts have been cleaned out.
