while substitute teaching in pasadena, ca i learned that positive reinforcement was key in class control... the kids loved it when i wrote the good names on the board ... kill 'em with kindness... best of luck...

I agree with Annicita. I give you much credit for dealing with the "little ones" more than handling the bus itself. I'm sure that vehicle will be somewhat of a difficult monstrosity to control and maneuver, but when you have rowdy, out-of-control pre-pubescents to contend with on top of that . . .  Best of luck!

I personally don't have the patience with the way some of these kids behave and the way their parents think it's okay behavior ... remember that bus monitor not that long ago who was elderly and couldn't afford to retire until so many donations came in to help her take a vacation and she doesn't have to work another day in her life!

It's not the bus, it's the passengers! You've got more guts than I would ever have...

I am always so impressed with anyone who can drive those big long  buses.

While I can understand your anxiety, I am confident that you CAN DO THIS!!! You care enough, and you have experience with little ones and with driving! Let go and let your years of experience shine through!  If you second-guess yourself, you will only cause yourself more harm.  Have the same faith in yourself that I have! Stand tall and stand strong!
