I'm sorry Bob, but I had to laugh at both his and your comments...Wow, that is something else. I got one from him and all is said is "that's cool how you sign your name after your poem" and I scratched my head.

I beg your pardon.  Are you a virus or something?

Re: Mama bear must have decided you were no threat

I was lucky she was so mellow about it.  On another hike years ago I happened on a bear and cub  about 100 feet away.  I stopped, stood stock still, and then moved slowly backwards in search of another hiking trail!  When we were first married, Gin and I drove our little non-air-conditioned Plymouth Duster out to Colorado.  While there we were in a pull-off and saw two cubs rooting through the garbage in an overturned disposal can.  The driver in another car actually got out and went up to them to get a cute picture! We cranked down the window and called over, "Get back in your car!  Mom can't be far away!"  We were from way out of state, young and stupid -but not that stupid!

Re: One of those moments

Blue feathers, I still don't understand how I could have missed them!  I'm reminded of Robert Fulghrum's charming book of essays, It Was Burning  When I Lay Down On It -the title essay is from a report after firemen saved a man from a fire.  They asked how it could have happened.  "Were you smoking in bed, or what?"  His answer was, well, the bed was burning when I lay down on it!  That's it.    The essay goes on to talk about how very illogically we humans act and think.

I agree with what you said in my comment place Bob. I have always been fascinated with your work, held your comments in high places, it is almost as if I need your comments out of my respect of who you are, what you have lived through. It is as if the call for last drinks when I don't see your thoughts, your reflections. as if I am writing to please you and a few others, like CCT, Rumor, Adnohr, and of course Kabu, but you are a poet and a professor and that holds salt for me (a complement out west...holding salt). Perhaps you could reconsider and use Blogit as your sounding board as you move forward in your quest. I am sure that many Blogitvillians, like me, would be highly pleased if you did.

Re: I don't know about me, CC, but I suspect that you can. PS The

woman foreman was cute.

Re: Re: Why no, Jay. My feelings are intact.

(oops I hit the wrong key) I think the misunderstanding has to do with the sculpture.  My failure to comment was due to my being preoccupied. check my comment on your latest post.

We saw a little black bear just the other day up the canyon (well it was late July) you can see the place from the city, its not far. Of course I had my gun on, I always carry up in the canyons, they ate a kid last year...Loved the poem Bob. Did I hurt your feelings somehow Bob? If I did I didn't mean to, I try to walk as careful as I can, but it is hard for an old fool like me...Always losing my balance as I do.

I like the way in which you write this poem. You make the reader feel for the speaker.
