They will lose respect if they can run over you and your work will lose it's quality.  I work all the time on becoming a smoother, cooler person working with a high strung, aggressive person!  and people.

Re: Dr_JPT

Then they have no excuse for their behavior.  Too bad people can be that way.

I think that no matter what you should demand respect from all around you.  If you helped them to overcome a deficiency and they show they have ...good for you!  but to use what t hey learned with your help to disrespect you is rude and you should not let it go as them showing their progress.  Your "defending" yourself by answering them back is not only appropriate but necessary for them to learn that kindness does not equal weakness.  Be well  xoxoxo

You are correct and I seem to have more in my life than I real care to have.

LostInLife

I agree with you in theory but the way they show that they know is disrespectful.  I am learning to deal with it better than previously.

They did.  I give help when asked or in case of emergency.  I do not give unsolicited help.

Just curious, did they as for the help to begin with?

Well I think you have probably removed the boundary and folk feel a little resentful.

Instead of praising you they express built up frustration. Might be wrong.

I agree they should show you some respect. Maybe you should be flattered? After all, if you have instructed them to overcome something and they are doing it (however not exactly how you meant) they are still listening to you and putting to actions your training?

Maybe I am way off the mark too ..

JimmyA's idea of a lack of respect makes sense to me.

I must admit I don't think I've ever been in that exact situation, but from where I sit, I think it may come down to a simple case of "respect." Some people just don't accept or realize when others are trying to help them, and find excuses to lash out for their own reasons. I assume this requires a lot of patience on the part of the teacher/instructor, something I myself have trouble with from time to time . . .
