Pure ignorance and arrogance! I notice the same and discussed it I. A blog post previously. Many have not be taught or shown ettiiqute, manners or social skills. On top of that many are angry and go around like a wrecking ball.

I once had a group of guys push my car into an intersection purposefully. I got out, gave them the finger and a few words. The followed me to a service station with a police car parked. The went on about their business then. Good post.

Reasonable respect in public places is definitely lacking in our world. Son #2 is well travelled and very observant of various cultures. He rates our own culture very low along this line.
