One of my sons does it too.

My son does that leg shaking too. He doesn't even notice he's doing it until someone will ask his to stop. He will...then very soon start over again. I'm used to it, so it doesn't really bother me.

I like your comment on being in tune.

I agree totally with you! For some reason I intimidate people and cannot understand why.  Some have said that I hold too high standards, some say I have a regal aura, others by my intellect and others by my no nonsense confrontational style.  Also, I am well known in the area as an educational administrator.

I can never sit still, always tapping my toes or wiggling my legs, and I pay little attention to what others are doing as I am so busy myself, although I am very aware of my soundings, so no, these little quirks of others do not bother me as long as we are all in time together.

From what I would say...

Something is working in each and every one of you... Maybe something didn't want you of all people in the row to hear or feel what was being said and was trying they best to take your attention elsewhere...

That just me..

I unconsciously make a fist and my muscles tighten rather than leg shaking.  More than like they come from the same place.

True.  Frequency may differ.

I got the message of the day.  They just appeared unusual that each of them did the same.  Usually one or two but not all.

That is a good response.

I definitely remember those faces and will not sit by them again.

It was unusual since they seemed to be in rhythm. You are right at a sporting event it would not have been noticiable.

when it was my kids yes it did disturb me....Grandchildren no....Looks like some people are so full of nervous energy that sitting still is impossible.

For me, a mild distraction.

Don't know Doc, I am usually concentrating on making my miming look authentic.

Being a leg-shaker myself, I honestly don't notice when others are doing it. But I've been asked a number of times to "hold still", because my twitching is distracting people around me. For me, it certainly is a compulsive, anxiety based movement and something that I'm usually not even conscious of doing at the time.

It would depend very much on the circumstances! But I think for the most part it would be a fairly minor distraction to me...

I know from experience it would be too much for me, an extremely high distraction; then I would make an effort to disregard it and focus on the message.  I would try to sit elsewhere or go elsewhere next time.

I think it would depend on where I was and what was actually going on around me. If there was a lot of movement and commotion anyway, like at a sporting event, I probably wouldn't even notice. But in a church? Yes, that would have probably driven me insane . . .
