Next time it comes on I will do my best to watch the full movie, non stop. When one does not hold my attention, I find the need to keep moving doing something.

Ever since you wrote this, I have been trying to watch the movie The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly.  I'm not moving along very fast.  I keep stopping to get up and go do something.  But, it is rather fascinating watching it with your comments in mind.

That movie is one of the very few movies I have ever watched. I tend to fall to sleep on them too. There is stereotyping and then there is overdone political correctness...all playing havoc with the good scripts.

Thanks. This is often not discussed mainly because it is among the things under the we know but we just don't talk about it.

It is true.  We must not take to literally events, stereotypes or anything that cripples us or make us victimize others because of what we think, feel or believe and does not affect us directly. Too many take on the offense of others without being asked, without it being our business and just join in a group rage or mob just for the drama an rush of it! Mental deficiency in some way.  Thought processing disorder.

My black friends tell me this from time to time.

Very interesting post.  I've heard of that movie, but I can't remember ever watching it.  The rest of the post was quite interesting.

I agree.  He was a homeless guy living under a bridge and has risen to heights by making movies that show the reality.  He is truly gifted.

I have no idea who Tyler Perry is! But you're absolutely right - most things fit under the Bell curve in a 'normal' distribution. Unless you get a bi-modal or even tri-modal distribution, of course...

You are so right.  It is too bad that we must endure so much too assure there is no discrimination when the very actions actually foster it. I think I will start early watching the movie with refreshments and nothing else on my agenda, then maybe I will makemit to the end of the movie. I liked Open Range and Tombstone.

So if "a few are good and a few are bad, and the rest fall in the middle," does that mean the rest are ugly? ( just teasin'  ) Yes, people do sometimes get confused by the faux reality they see in movies and on TV, and may tend to accept at least some of it as being "the norm." Much of it has changed over they years as far as the roles are concerned, but it appears that the pendulum may have swung a little too far to the right! In trying to change people's perceptions of certain groups while simultaneously forcing versatility on everybody, it now seems that every show, regardless of its plot point or story lines, must have each gender, every race, every religious group, every sexual orientation, every age, every level of intelligence, etc., represented, or else someone gets in a tizzy! It's just too bad sometimes that, because they were so worried about making sure each group was being represented, they forgot to write a decent show around them!

By the way, The Good, The Bad And The Ugly is one of my all-time favorite films! It's too bad you can't make it to the end . . .

True!  I prefer reading so I can fill in the picturesque myself.

I used to watch films, but I would rather read a book these days, but don't fret it is cheap entertainment and if your hubby likes old films it is a no vice situation .

You are right and added more to the endless list of biases based out a multitude of things that make it not good for many in this world.

There are so many variations of every story and situation. Shades of color, brightness, length, language, time setting, gender biasis, tinges of prejudice, and the list goes on  ad infinitum. Making  fianl judgements on a simple scene , piece of writing or a photograph seems witless. I agree, let's always take another look..

From what I know his Dad was abusive and his Mom was weak.  His aunt had to take on a woman/man role to get his Dad straight and ALL others who appear ignorant of basic common sense.  Many do or say nothing while living in a constant state of fear. He puts it in the screen that gives courage to those watching.

Prior to seeing his work I read a book God is my CEO. The message for leaders included using ethical and moral values also in decision making.  It was stated that the Jerry Springer show held at its root exposing wrong behavior and giving opportunity to help others see so they understand that it happens to more than them and give the courage and ways to change their situations.

Reality checks are a good idea. Biased slants can occur anywhere and are wrong. Good point.

I have heard a lot of great things about Tyler but have yet to check out any of his films or his television show...Oh yes, reality checks are necessary.
