I think I may have been a little "out of the loop" this past weekend and am now coming into the middle of all of this. I know no one here wants to offend anyone, regardless of the topic being discussed. But at the same time, I'm fairly certain that, if anyone is upset or offended, it was probably not the intent by the original author. I've always assumed ( I know . . . a dangerous word ) that everyone here was relatively free to discuss whatever they wished, and present their subsequent arguments and opinions based on the subject matter. If, in the process, someone gets "rubbed the wrong way," I think it's safe to say that no one here is going to like, agree with, and/or enjoy everything everyone else has written! Sometimes ya just gotta take the bad with the good . . .

I am so sorry for your pain. 
This is a very open and honest post and for that I thank you. I have just started reading your work and find it to be very good. 
I decided not to comment at length on the post in question because Spiritual discussions are very interesting to me, but religion makes me feel yucky. I tend to shy away from the yucky parts of life as I am only here for a little while. 
I struggled with the concept of god for a long time. I have come to my own belief that gives me peace.

I am out of this argument because I have to admit that I dont read long blogs as I lose interest in the words and I try to touch on something that was said, but I think I missed the whole purpose but I know you have a right to your opinion. I believe a lot of Christians are the worse hypocrites there are

You are an excellent writer, Mia, very able to express your opinions. Your blog is an interesting read. Because of this there will be, of course, differences of opinion from time to time. Goes with the territory. And I second Kabu's emotion.

I try not to write about religion, it is a sacred subject to many and it is so easy to hurt or upset things, things that have a tendancy to roll back on you, the writer. I have read both posts and decided not to comment on the first post, but I see both points, yours and hers, but this is a time when many Christians feel they are under attack in this country. Of course we all have a right to our own opion, unless you are a Christian and want a Nativaty scene at Christmas. I was 57 when I started going to church, I seldom heard anybody, other than family, preach to me, any more than I preached to them. I was a herion addict, close to death when God picked me up, but that is just my story, and if someone believes it then good for them, and if someone does not, then good for them. As for me I am alive and well 10 years clean and sober...Be happy.

Now you are writing...writing from the heart. This is a 100% better post. In the other one, I got the impression that you were copying and pasting words from other internet postings. This one is chock full of honest questions, honest feelings, and edited into something worth reading. If one is going to write a post about religion, it should be given lots of thought and many questions instead of condemnations only.

Don't let the words of others disturb you. Each has a right to their opinions, but no right to be offensive. Don't feel too much on the defense. Block the writer and continue to write. As one blocks phone numbers or see on caller ID and ignore, do that so that you will keep upsetting words from having any effect. I had to learn this. People like that will do that and they are calm after throwing a shot. It is just a matter of feeling that we must all think alike. We think like others when we do not think for ourselves.
