I too just call people by there official name, group or individual. Unless, like my name, it's Victoria, but of course you can call me Vicky. And then there's those cutesy names for dogs or pets or people, lol. I'm all about happy not hurting.

I think that just about every ethnic group has a few "slang" words associated with them, some worse than others. A few are even somewhat fun or cutesy. But I think what it all stems from is anger. Whenever people are hurt or upset by the actions of another, and feel the need to lash out verbally, these are the types of terms that come out. It's not really a matter of whether they are right or wrong. It's just something someone might say at the spur of the moment out of anger or frustration. If I did something to anger some black person and they called me a "stupid-ass cracker" in retaliation, I don't think I would be so upset or take it so personally, and would probably shrug it off. People need to thicken their skin a little . . .

You are such a darling. I would like to be like Taps but I admit that sometimes, especially my own country folk annoy me into a mild slur....But I feel perfectly able to write that I am color blind. We are all Gods children.

I am totally against labeling people for any reason except as necessary description for finding wanted criminals.  Otherwise, a person's name is good enough for me.  No slang needed.
