I can imagine their expressions when you showed up for the interview in that outfit. I pulled a similar trick when young; was invited to apply for air stewardess position and rode my motocycle to the interview, showing up in jeans, boots and leathers. LOL! They suggested I look elsewhere too. Hope your granddaughter enjoys discovering a new country!

I agree with MsJudy. Not too many social workers get shot at these days . . .

That is a good way to find out whether you want to do a job or not.

I meant to say granddaughter! I was in a bit of a hurry to try to read as many people as I could since I have not been able to read much lately! So sorry! sam

I hope your daughter has a wonderful time! I don't think I could be a policewoman either! Such a dangerous job! sam

And did you or did something else happen.

I see that you have been reading a lot...That is interesting how you wanted to be a police officer...Social work ended up getting a great employee in you.

Interview

Well either one is a great career, however, the odds of not getting shot at were much better with the social worker's job!   :)

much wiser choice. I don't think that it is just horrible hard work and

very little recognition for just how much you do for society.

After working as a reporter for a while I found out being a cop is not

a job I'd want. They clean up after domestic disputes, deal with drunks and terrible accident scenes and hostile drivers, some with weapons. People puke on them, they have to carry terrible news to families whose child or parent has died violently, they get shot at, punched. No thanks.

Probably a wise choice

The police don't get to help, I suspect, as much as some would like.  And some of the people you'd be working with would not be in it to help people.
