Better a cuddly Teddy than a dead rabbit Bill. I don't think many know who makes what this days, one might as well say don't buy a Japanese vechicle.

I say that a stuff animal can be a fine substitute...I am not familiar with Volkswagons.

As a child, I had a pet sweater, a pet good'n'plenty (briefly)

In fact, I imagined a certain anima in everything around me.  Since I couldn't have animals, this was fine for me.

I still 'animatize' things, and have to watch out for that, because it makes it very difficult to get rid of things when they really are done.  I think my car mascot gets lonely when left alone in the car overnight.  If I bring it inside, then forget to take it with me the next time, I fear it feels abandoned and left out, missing the trip.

Kids know the difference between reality and make-believe, it just doesn't signify.

I don't know if it is good for a child or not, but it is good for the stuffed toy.  Slowpoke is very tired of waiting for Marianna to want him.  He is getting out of the cookie jar to find a child of his own.

I have no problems with stuffed animals, nor with Volkswagens. The war's been over for 68 years now...
