Re: C_C_T

I do find it depressing that news papers run by a single man are allowed to create public opinion by printing lies and then have that opinion used to justify governmental policy: government of the people by one corporation...

Re: FormerStudentIntern

Thank you.  I don't know if it's possible to run an unbiased news service but I am sure it is possible to run one that doesn't promote hatred

Re: JimmyA

I have been made aware  this year of a number of a practise among certain News International publications where they are using the law to their advantage - the law gives them 24 hours to retract any false information before any cesure takes place (unless they are committing libel against a specific person) so they are printing propeganda pieces using actors for the photos for their front page story and next day printing a small retraction around page 5 somewhere saying the story was wrong.  What it amounts to is fairly cruel attacks against poor people and immigrants that are contructed entirely of lies.

It's a shame there's nowhere to get impartial news

Strong words Lion, so many problems have run out of hand. Encouraged probably by the wrong motives. Well done,

This describes the media very well.

I read my newspaper daily, just to basically keep up with what may be going on in the world. But I don't necessarily believe everything I read, nor to I trust the judgements of a reporter trying to make a name for themselves. Always remember, as long as they use the word alleged, they can print whatever they want! It's scary sometimes ( I know . . . I was on the other side of the coin once. A long story! )
