Glad that plaque is over and those yucky blood suckers.  They had better not pinch you on St. Patricks's day when you are wearing green!! St. Patrick is one of my favorites .

There are so many options

for color names--the fashion industry sees to that!  The color you posted I'd call 'orchid.' I refuse to let a mess of bugs ruin any color for me!

Ewwww..... no longer like the colour.

I never knew that but then these days they will just rename the same colour something like "winter damson" so you can wear it again

Re: lustorlove

I've always had an interest in words and the pc makes it so easy to search out meanings and synonyms and antonyms.  My word for searching out today is stevedores.  I found that it is from a Portuguese word meaning "to stuff".  A letter to "Dear Abby" got me started on that one.

I have never noticed the change of color and dont know where you are talking about, but I wonder how you found out about puce

I don't remember ever having heard this before either. I like that color, but refuse to call it puce. I like the term better in French, who call it 'vieille rose', or 'rose anitque', which means 'old pink'  or 'antique pink'. Enjoyed the post - and its humor!

Oh I don't know Taps I wouldn't mind a shirt that colour. In fact I think I have one. Although to be honest, I will not buy another, I am beginning to feel a bit itchy already.

Oh, I did enjoy this, and if I had heard the definition of puce I don't

remember it. I am also looking forward to St. Paddy's day and the wearing of the green. Especially for the trees. :)

Even though I knew about that French flea business, I can never tell where the 'line of demarcation' is, when 'red' becomes 'puce'; that's why I call everything that's sort of reddish red! And I apply that to all the other colours as well - okay, I will talk of violet, beige and pink...LOL
