My NY nephew got tired of NY weather and is off playing on the beach below Sugar Loaf Mountain in Rio. I don't envy him, but I sure like looking at his pictures that he posts, and dreaming.

I am still having a hard time getting use to the cold here and the few days we have snow I am glad I am not there I dont know if I could survive all the snow and cold

Another storm? wow, I bet you have had it with this winter. Down here in Miami Beach Winter has been almost nonexistent, not that I am complaining, I got my fill of snow in Jersey couple of weeks ago while visiting my daughter there. Stay warm Taps... xoxoxo

BHave you ever seen a pile of salt in one spot in a parking lot so the next time it snows that spot will be clear and the rest od the lot covered with snow and ice love.

It feels so good doesn't it, when terrible weather is heading for you and
there is plenty of fresh food in the house and you are all set to bunk down and wait it out.....actually it has been like that up here for months now.

The stabilicers Naut mentions are worth it, TAPS. I go up and down my hills here with no problem. Just the feeling of being secure on your walk is worth it. I heard you were getting another storm...we'll have it here too. Those darned demons....

It's good to give the old sled a run every once in while, LOL...About this falling on ice business: you may recall that I fell badly on a patch of ice and completely ruined my shoulder, which has now been completely repaired. But ever since then I am wearing strap-on spikes on my boots or shoes whenever there's ice on the sidewalks and in the park, and they've been fantastic. I wouldn't leave home without them, LOL. The best ones I could find are from L.L.Bean, called 'Stabilicers' - they're inexpensive, and they're shipped free of charge. And no, I don't own L.L.Bean shares...
