Happy New year and it was dramatic

I do hope you all had a very Merry Christmas. As for me the holiday is a mixed thing, part religious and part just for fun. History tells us that when the Romans taxed all the people, as the story goes, was more than likely in April. The holiday in December is a carry over from the ancient celebration, the coming of the sun, as this is when the days begin to get longer. It seems we Christians simply took over a good thing. I loved your post.

I think I see the connection, as both births might be perceived as "miracles," and the advancement of life becomes the primary focus. Years ago, my father put "the holidays" in perspective for me when he exclaimed "Just look at it as an end-of-the-year celebration, reflecting on both the good and the bad, and use the time to do unto others." As you said, giving is better than receiving, and there's never anything wrong with going out of your way to put a smile on someone's . . . anyone's . . . face! A Merry Belated Christmas to you, and let's hope that the new year is better and brighter for us all!
