Sometimes the beauties who are lacking in inner beauty become, far too soon, starving uglies.

Re:

It should be in the eye of the beholder, Jimmy. That's right. But the con of beauty has become more the norm nowadays--A person with Jane Fonda's nose, Angelina Jolie's lips, Cesaer's brow, and so on are considered beautiful by all, and not the unique beauty in which you speak of, which is an individual's own uniqueness "in the eye of the beholder." But, yes, I see where you're going with that.

I understand the sentiment, but aren't both beauty and ugliness subjective? It's all in the eye of the beholder!

Re: I have to disagree

Not totally free, you're right. But they have an easier time obtaining their desires.

Re:

Well...you're right and wrong in that comment, my friend: nothing is absolutely free, but a socially attractive female or male (or cute child or cute puppy) will get a meal every day for simply being attractive; while one socially unattractive person or animal may have a hard time getting fed...or get nothing at all.

Re: At the end of the day

So true.  At the end of the day the world's people learn absolutely nothing from this well elucidated parable--though its been stated over and over for hundreds of years.

Re:

Lol! We might, C.C. but my point leans more towards "bread fed to beauty" and that being vain: as beauty cannot appreciate a good meal; nor gain any knowledge from the meal.

Not really for free...something is expected of her in the end.

At the end of the day, it is about privilege due to socially constructed

notions of beauty

Perhaps if it had been different more ugly folk would be around. We all might look bizarre to a nice looking alien.
