no they should have listened to you, nothing you can do about it if they refuse to listen or pay attention. you are doing a very difficult job, and if you are doing it 24/7 you really do need a break. but when you get one, spend it on yourself.

That's a tough call! I understand your reluctance to upset Grandpa, but at the same time, accurate information has got to be given to the vet! I dealt with a similar situation with my father some years ago. Unfortunately, his dimentia had him seeing dogs that weren't actually there! A little tough to deal with. I can sympathize.
