The degree of proud is formed by the fact we were not conned in this election. If Romney had won I can say disappointment would have tempered my pride but not destroyed it.

I'm still proud to be an American, but I can honestly say that I have been prouder in the past. My pride seems to be tested year after year. I don't think I'll ever fall so low as to be ashamed to be an American, but there are times when it seems like that is possible. I really hope not . . .
