Hi Taps... we've found that Granny is settling very well, and seems much more calm now that she is being better looked after. The plaster cast has stayed on too..:)
Hopefully you've got a few years of independence in you yet..! Me too, God willling..

That time of life for you to be caring for parents. I remember it well.
Now I think about my sister in a nursing center, and the ones who passed away in one, and wonder how long it might be before my time comes. Such is the way of humans.

Hi Kabu... I am not alone in this, nor is my partner. We are among many who have brought up children and who have only a short period of pleasing ourselves, before being faced with caring for elderly parents. So far we are managing to support one another...though it can be a little frustrating at times..!!
