This is Old Testament but about the New Testament. This is about our sins having been given to Jesus to forgive all who ask. I  agree with you that the beauty of our forgiveness in the New Testament is so wonderful but the Old Testament is pointing toward Jesus the whole way.

I love Isiah, particularly his last 27 chapters as they refer to life after the birth of Jesus the Christ. There then is no reason for our staying astray the sin has been laid on Jesus and we are forgiven for the asking. Wonderful gift.
