LOL - I'm right back with my 'everything happens for a reason'. I also like the quantum explanation, and love mystery, and wouldn't be at all surprised that Pat_B has links to Einstein!! As for dice? That's gambling - has absolutey nothing to do with things like this.

Yet another one of "life's mysteries" that we all hope will be resolved someday! There's a saying that goes: "Some days you bite the dog . . . some days the dog bites you!" And I guess with dice, some days they'll come up 7, and some days you hit craps! It must depend on your own individual luck, I suppose! Those were some amazing "coincidences" though . . . or were they "ironies?"

I would think that if it were God doing such things there would be more to it than simply signing a bill, or a passing conversation, but then I am mortal and not intune with such things.

Re: There is that little theory of "quantum entanglement"

which is another way to describe and maybe even explain how such things happen.

Re: What goes around, comes around. Everything is connected.

PatB, you say, "Whatever these things are, they bring a sense of wonder and surprise..." Einstein said, "The most beautiful experience we can have is the mysterious." They say that great minds think alike. Either that or you have been reading Einstein.

I think if God rolled the dice they would be loaded. A more mundane answer would be that you moved in a circle of acquaintances who's life style was similar to your own. You may have mentioned that Mcdonalds to your friend and she decided to suss it out. The gentle man with the ring obviously had similar tastes to you and the girls may have made a few more after seeing how delighted you professed to be.  Nethertheless it could be magic.

What goes around, comes around. Everything is connected.

I love these amazing little coincidences which some believe are not coincidental at all, but pre-ordained or fated. Whatever these things are, they bring a sense of wonder and surprise to what could otherwise be an unremarkable moment.

It's amazing the connections we and others have to places and other people...A good question there about if it is not God, who's rolling the dice?
