I think I read this poem somewhere before some times ago. It's a very wonderful poem that painted beautiful pictures in a reader's mind. I might not know what's pictures-in-the-mind for others, but to me, the pictures in my mind reflect the person that I truly am. I think that's part of the reasons I chose to become a writer.

I like to think the girl just liked the arm of the wind encircling her waist.

Yes. Very much so. That's why I was wondering how their minds would interpret/see the imagery in the poem. We shall never now. Van Gogh would probably have produced some lovely brush-strokes of olive trees. Dali? Heavens alone know. Perhaps a pretty girl with a long mustache.

The first thing that struck me when I first read the poem was the incongruity of 'antique' in the context. It is probably something to do with translational difficulties of the meaning and/or shades of meanings of the Spanish word in the original text.

A lot of vivid images in this poem.

Nice poem I think I would have to concentrate on the girl,. don't wan't to be pinchy but would real bullfighters have antique silver swords, I think the girl knew more than she let on as usual.

Interesting question, and I like the poem.

I'm not sure a young girl these days would resist the temptation to see Seville in the company of rockstar bull fighters. Perhaps she had a strict mother. Perhaps she was in love with the boy next door.

Love the poem. Not sure the painters could duplicate the pictures created in anyone's mind but their own....each mind is unique, is it not?
