vis a vis Iraq
I find developments in Pakistan and Afganistan interesting from the point of view of the Iraq conflict. Arguably, the situation with Pakistan and India and their nukes might indicate that American efforts might better have been focused on stabilizing that region. On the other hand, even though no WMD have been found in Iraq, it is possible that Libya's new found cooperation (if it is real) is a tangible benefit of going into Iraq. I find it odd that the U.S. is preaching peace and democracy to the Islamic world when more people are lost on our streets to murder in a year than have been lost by both sides in the Iraq and Afganistan conflicts combined.
