Re: Have you read Wiley's book?

We talked about it again and decided to see her one more time. I honestly think we do more good sharing our readings and meditations and then discussing them. Also, praying together has been really good for us. A family friend told me she prayed for my husband to fall fast and hard to his bottom. He did, but he's bouncing back.

Have you read Wiley's book?

I am re-reading it "Love and Sobriety"? I bought it thinking it would be just a good read and since my husband drinks and I have been around alcoholics all of my life. But now I'm re-reading just for the answers that will help me with his problems.  I have come to realize that he is the one who really needs counseling; not me but he hasn't hit bottom yet. So I am gaining more understanding by reading of Wiley's life and dealing with his addiction.  I am accepting more of the way my life is unfolding each day. Learning that he is responsible for his actions; no matter what happens and I am letting go of issues more quickly these days and accepting life as it is instead of holding on to so much anger and bitterness.  Hang in there. God will show you the way if you are to see another counselor.  For me, God blocked my path when I tried to talk to a pastor. Three times... I posted it a few weeks ago if you didn't catch it. I gain strength from reading posts from people like you and your husband and how you are working on your problems together.

It is strange the questions that some marriage counselors do ask.

sounds like she would do you both more harm than good. A proper

councillor isn't there to yap about themselves.
