Re: nice

OMG ace! I'm told the same thing! I'm too kind...seriously, how can you be too kind? I totally believe in karma and random acts of kindness. I buy the homeless cups of coffee, or a burger sometimes even whole meals. I tend not to give money just because I don't want to contribute to them killing themselves, but food anytime. I've had friends who've become homeless within this economy sleepiing on my couch, and unfortunately some people take kindness for weakness, they don't pay me anything, but I don't get mad, even though they may think they "got over" or that I'm "a sucker" I don't give more than I have and I know that in the greater scheme of things I'm going to come out ahead as far as peace and serenity goes. I don't worry so much about money, it comes and it goes. I don't have a lot, but I get by. My kids have what they need, food, shelter, clothing, and every electronic device available. Lol. Anyhow, I'm going to finish that email to you. Ttys and thanks again for the visit my friend.

Re:

Baltimore huh? I have a friend that's originally from there and he's told me it's pretty rough, at least the area he was from, he moved out here to cali some years ago and is doing good. Thanks for the visit and the comment. Ya know, that actually happened, the subject of this poem, I mean. Ttys.

Re:

Hi again CCT. Well, I think that in the united kingdom, from what I've heard at least, the elderly are taken much better care of than they are here in the states. I've heard your health care is much better for those who don't have much money. I'm sure there are some homeless where you are but not nearly as many as here in the states. Thank you for the read and the comment. Hope you continue to enjoy.

A well written and sad poem, really makes me happy I sobered up and don't sleep in alleys and back porches anymore,

nice

very good topic for me. You are right, that guy was somebody and still is. Some veterans, war heroes, fathers, mothers, daughters, sons, etc.  At a time, they contributed to the establishment.   Sad part is society doesn't even recognize him as an equal anymore.  The choices we make today tend to lead to the reality we live in tomorrow. I am told that I give too much. I don't do it thinking of the fact that it could be me one day because I wouldn't expect anyone to give me anything.  I sometimes think it is a bad thing because I think I do it to make myself feel good. Making me selfish.

Well we don't see many like that here, occasionally an old tramp will try to catch one's eye. I know they exist though in the cities sleeping in doorways of stores etc. It is a rough life and not easy to return to anything better.
