officially my shortest poem. I thought to myself: 'what is my definitive phrase: my one answer?' And considering that your witness in life must spring from all of you and must not empty you out in the telling - this is mine. In my 40 years of observing, reading, exploring and thinking, this is my thought of what is wisdom in life. It springs from my faith and my decisions. faithfulness adds to everything: enriches everything - is hard to do, and is very giving in terms of self-esteem etc. So in all my ceaseless searching this is my truth. And when i look around at the wreckage of people's lives this is the phrase that would have kept them safe ... my voice is this: faithfulness is the thing, so 'be faithful'.
