Re:marissa

It's quite imposing.  Like the Golden Gate, it connects an urban-looking landscape with a more rural and undeveloped looking one - at least that's the way I remember it from my trip to San Francisco, and that's the kind of feeling I was trying to catch.

I would like to see it.

Re: CC

I try to tiptoe around your phobias, but when the poem about the snake and the one about the bear didn't trigger anything, I saw no harm in a little something about a bridge.

My bad.

I have such phobias, too - ever since your note, I have these imaginings that won't go away: megabunnies big enough to eat your kale!  And what will they eat when the kale's all gone!  One shudders to think.

Yes a good poem Bob made me phobic and that is an achievement.

Re: GWB

If you mean that driving on it and/or getting off it makes you a little nervous, I agree 100%.  It's always a bit of a releif when I get on Palisades Parkway on the Jersey side or on Broadway on the NY side.

Hmm, I have mixed feelings on the GWB,  but the poem is wonderful :)

Re: GW Bridge

Thank you. It[s a beautiful sight.

As kids, my friend Marty and I walked all the way from where we lived on 198th Street to the center of the bridge just to throw a little balsa glider off and watch it go all the way down to the river.  The thing was, the glider was so small that it couldn't even be seen after the first hundred feet or so!  We went home wiser, but being kids we didn't mind the walk.

Eloquent, creative, and magically descriptive!
