Yeah, I was in the same boat a few weeks ago. You're right . . . it is difficult not to think about work ( as well as a host of other things ) while actually on vacation, as it is difficult to get back into the swing of things once you return. But, you do what you have to do . . . !

It really is a good test of how happy one is with work if you are excited

to be returning after a great week off. that old depression thing seems to be a thing of the past. Well done.

at times I am on a never ending vacation, but then there are those days I cant keep up, but everyone needs a vacation.  I know I do after the first half of this year has been a little bit of hell

Good for you. And yes, when you've truly enjoyed your off-days, and has given yourself the permission to relax during the vacation, it won't be too hard to go back to work or study after that.
