LadyK, I've trained the hummingbird to clear sugar water.
They say that the red is bad for them. He has to check out the feeder up close, cuz he can't tell by the color if it is full or empty. This makes him angrier, I think. Well, not angry, but shorter tempered. He is funny. He buzzes my head when I'm in the garden, just to say that he's there. Sits on branches and lets me talk to him from about three feet away. Buzzes my head when he leaves again.

Having filled many feeders myself with that lovely red sugar water
I'd say it's just fine to be pushed by a pushy hummingbird.  What delightful plots you have cooked up with your grandkiddies.

Lady Kenobi, poverty makes an artist more artistic during the holidays.

My grandson loved his warrior stick and will help me to glue leather around the central handle area this next week and then it will be done. We are consulting about the designs and colors of the other three sticks. I have made them black and red and orange as background colors. We are going to go through my Indian design book. Or maybe African designs. So many books.

The girls loved their secret treasure boxes. I filled them up with decorated journals and things which I knew that they would love. (Like the teeny tiny scissors that I gave my smallest granddaughter who adores teeny tiny things. They actually cut and are just her size. She looked around for things to try them on and we had to talk about that.....as she was looking at my sister's curtains and then at her own pretty new Christmas dress netting!)

I love this pushy hummingbird. My old dog is pushy. Maybe I just invite nature to push  me around, dunno. Autumn, the new dog, hasn't learned to bark at me and insist on things as yet, she is still overly polite, but she'll learn.

Merry Christmas, benz
Geez, this was good! Write more. It's better than aspirin.

I hope my mother is as wonderful a grandmother as you are come April.

Your grandbabies will treasure their gifts now for their wonderfulness, and treasure them later because they came from your own hands and heart.

(I LOVE hummingbirds.  My favorite bird, bar none.  They are very Colorado :))
