Interesting post. Your Biblical facts about God's dealings with Abraham, Isaac, Jacob & Esau are as I remember. But, in our eyes, what modern people "should do" and "do do" are never the same. And, what people think other people should do, and what they themselves would do or do do are most often at odds. Makes for an interesting, and at times frightening world.
