Oh to be like the rest of the civilized world here in the wild, wild west..

Socialized medicine may not be perfect but at least if illness strikes, folks don't have to worry about losing their homes and/or life savings...And you know, if one received paychecks in their lifetime Social Security and Medicare were paid into, whether the worker wanted to or not. But for those eager to privatize or simply whittle both away to nothingness, like Paul Ryan, that point is moot.

I am really scared for my friends in the USA when I read things like this

trouble is there is no such thing as a free meal. the bureaucrats must be paid their salaries so that they can continue to keep us nobodies down and out and yeah, they have to kill off all these aging leeches that are going to suck the life blood from the countries with their health care and pensions and need to EAT.

My mother is very upset about this too!

And to add insult to injury, she tells me it is becoming ever more difficult to find doctors willing to accept Medicare patients because the government keeps slashing their payments. Those with private insurance aren't faring any better - I have insurance and yet must pay $500.00 a month for just two of my inhalers - geez, need 'em to breathe..my condition will worsen slowly but surely to the point of me needing supplemental oxygen and guess what? They don't cover that either so I'll have to scrape up another $400-500.00 for that at some point..I think those who aren't wealthy are being told: Die Suckers!
