I mean, if I wasn't moved by the original version much, reading your opinion about the new version/sequel, makes me like it less..

Thank you for sharing..

I have to be honest..

My first Andrew Lloyd Webber play was 'Sunset Boulevard'. So, when I wasn't really moved when watching The Phantom of the Opera (I saw it in Melbourne in 1998), I thought it was just because of the setting, which had the stage very dark and plain.

Now that I read your opinion, I have to agree. I can't remember much from the play, not even the leading characters.. it was the one play that didn't leave too much impression on me, although it was one of the most well-known stories in the world..

Crikey Ciel, I feel I have to stagger across to view any writer who was dropped a line on my page. Unfortunately you seem a bit too highly qualified on most subjects. Honestly though I don't like seeing repeats much, so I expect you are right about this and nothing is worse than mediocre poetry being distributed to the masses. At least on the written page, one can ignore the exercise.

Ciel

Thanks for the heads-up, I won't bother when it gets here. A couple of years ago I did see a movie of a Salome (Richard Strauss) stage production, that was really excellent! And then there was a movie of Madama Butterfly that I actually liked better than the stage production I had seen earlier...
