Kabu - it seems that everyone I know has old computers to deal with

They are sellable up to about 5 years old when they begin to fall off of the market in terms of their value but the local thrift store seems to have good luck passing them on for a few dollars. Both of the computers I donated were gone within 2 weeks from their shelves.

TAPS. - hello and how have you benn keeping?

What I am suggesting in this blog is most suited for old computers that have in fact become doorstops. If you have a use for a computer that will have limited functionaiity, an install of YLMF will be an interesting experience. you will end up with a lean and efficient operating system ideal for that bedroom or cottage computer where emails can be viewed or projects can be undertaken. I store a collection of family photos going back 4 generations on mine and use one of the free Linux software programs to put on a slideshow at family gatherings.

This is definitely more in Wiley's style than mine but it does make a

person stop to think that clever people like you could re do these older machines and sell or donate them to charity or deprived schools or whatever.
