My perspective of the American political landscape is in a word "foreign", but it does provide a great deal of entertainment . . . and also a few cautionary lessons.

the jist
the debate is between demonstrable facts and unsubstantiated belief -- I adhere to, as Paul said, "prov [ing] all things". The problem with many religious believers today is that they fly in the face of proven fact to believe something that is not true -- and is detrimental to society as a whole.
