This will continue in my opinion due to need/greed that has been around and will continue. Nature will balance in time.

I will certainly grant you that there is much, shall we say, 'surplus toxicity', in some societies and some locales more than in others. But the human inventive drive, which has helped create the population numbers we have today, also and inevitably has its negative consequences. Unlike Malthus, I think we'll 'muddle through', unless we have some very nasty nuclear confrontations, precipitated possibly by people who favor an 'end-of-the-world' scenario, as do some of those folks who think the 12th Imam is about to return, LOL.

The whole business is exceedingly complex. But I find the answers that some people advance to the problems we face often exceedingly naive, and frequently accompanied by a distinctly totalitarian impulse...

Well we have 5 bins one for food waste which I never use, 1 for green waste which most used to push into the so called old dustbin and 2 for recycable paper, card etc and glass and of course the old forementioned dustbin which is collected alternate weeks to the green bin. Car Batteries and also engine oil or cooking oil may be left standing in suitable containers. Must be outside by 6am.
