So glad you beat it, Dear Kabu! Yes, we do get "nudges" from time to time...Your caring, loving soul returned you to what you were born to do..

I really pondered your reply to me...Hmnnn made me thing back to
when i was diagnosed with the breast cancer and I know that it too changed my thinking...one wants to live each day with more gratitude and do at least one thing for oneself and one thing for someone else.....as soon as I was well, I went back to my nursing career.

The whole experience is unforgettable, WileyFriend. Joy and relief, sorrow for the other boy and his loved ones and disbelief...Thank you for reading.

The horror you had to face mentally was most frightening, and very sad about the other lad.

Yes, indeed, Dear Kabu. It was very chilling. My son had a wide mix of emotions when he heard about the other boy - it was the exact type of accident, happened for the same reasons on the same day, same town, they were the same age, same location of the wound. Only difference was he lived...I think a kind of survivor's guilt came over him and then he really began pondering other worldly mysteries, trying to figure out why..but of course, there are no clear answers to these "happenings." I think it's something along these lines - your time on earth is not a sure bet, make something meaningful of it - and when the universe needs you elsewhere, the call is heeded, often in ways that cause strangers, bystanders or those left behind to take notice and oh, by the way, there is a higher power who knows all and will give a glimpse of what is beyond our understanding when needed..My son was a very restless, confused teenager (like most) who thought the world revolved around him. His life hasn't been smooth or perfect since this day, but he did become more aware of life around him, kinder, more tolerant and patient, less frantic, frenetic, etc. He also began believing in prayer and said quite a few for the other boy and his family (still does) and he asks for guidance and expresses gratitude for his blessings.

Thank you for reading!

The news reports put things into perspective and bring things closer to home.
