This all sounds so delicious that it makes my mouth water. Your mother sounds a lot like my father, when you were in his house you knew you were welcome...whoever you were. A great post.

It is strange how tolerance has been lost Raye. I think it has a lot to do with the scrabble for possessions. When most folk had nothing those who had a slightly bit more gave pleasure by sharing and being appreciated. Not everyone of course but it was duplicated in the manner of your dear Mother throughout the countryside over here. Lovely thoughts Raye.

Re: You sound much more full of (green) beans
Lol, Azur, yep full of something. My Mother rather daintily cuts, I follow Ma's hands on method; used to have a blast helping her snap 'em..:) Thanks for stopping in.

I haven't been able to garden much this year. Do have a couple of tomato plants but only one is thriving. Thanks for visiting!

You sound much more full of (green) beans
I think snapping them is better sometimes than cutting them.

What a great post.  It made me glad that I picked up some good-looking produce when I went shopping this morning for groceries to restock my supply.  I ended up with tomatoes, apples, red onion, okra, asparagus spears, broccoli, brussel sprouts, turnips, baby carrots and I can't remember what else.  LOL
