Go to ONE NURSE - HER STORIESAdd a commentGo to Puss oozed from the puncture wound in the crook of her needle tracked arm

I so badly wanted to tell him that she was "infected" and what that meant..
but of course I couldn't. He had said that she told him a week ago that she had HIV. He was so oblivious to the facts however, that I was afraid for him and of course his wife. It can be so heart wrenching to see stories like this unfold with hands tied, unable to say a word in terms of protecting the patient's right to confidentiality. But what about this man's poor unsuspecting wife? Please tell me how this is right and just?

You make me feel that I am there watching the tale unfold.

I have always admired folks, especially nurses, in the medical field! It has to be one of the most difficult jobs to do! sam

You write very well - and it's good.  Nursing will take its toll and I find it healthy to 'write' or have some form or outlet to 'release'.  I will follow this.  Elyse

Not at all. Especially in the high acuity arena. I am left smiling at the thought you can relate to nursing ...
