I do it sometimes too as I can see out the window better from there.
After all the lights are out I like to open the blinds so I can see the stars or moon and now and then little critters moving around.  One night I saw a really big possum walking up the sidewalk like it knew where it was going.

It is after all human beings itself who determine what should be the head
or the bottom of the bed.

Sunny, I always sleep BEST when oriented in a north/south direction!
I theorize that there are tiny magnetic particles in my head, just as many birds have. It has been said this is how pigeons and salmon orient themselves from anywhere in the world, day or night, light or dark.
Whenever I find myself feeling essentially unrested after spending the night in an unfamiliar place, and I later in the morning check a compass or with a native, to learn which way north is, I understand.
