How intriguing that you went from shoe to slipper! It felt like a cycle had been completed! I like the line that spoke of things being a given way if we knew what we were supposed to be doing! I did like how the imagery stayed focused on the shoe but it was so intertwined into a reality unto its own~(S)well done, indeed! sam

Last thoughts on this poem to finish off that old wretch,,

Sadly I lean against the sty
It seems so lonely and forsaken
I’ll get a piglet by and by
I dearly love a slice of bacon.

Hey Johny I am the old chaps Uncle Albert

I gave the little chap an apple red and sweet.
I swear he was a picture as she took her deadly aim
She was the butcher and she only thought of meat,
I heard a scrunch, I shuddered, never trust a dame.

Hey he's just a bit of a boy Taps, a young stripling of a man. Why would he want to get his shoes off in a hurry,  This seems a rather suggestive poem to me and he has the nerve to mention new slippers, you don't read that very often on these blogs. You could move to the adult page John.

Fascinating.  For some reason I love reading old men.
LOL.  That's the kettle calling the pot black--I'm years older than you.
