Re: For some years I lived next door to someone
Very interesting, Azur. I've been reading Richard's autob. - "Life" and was struck by his insights to the repressive authority he and other artists who dared to speak, sing out against struggled with. And then to see some of those same artists become official parts of the establishment that was/is a breeding ground for said repression is rather dismaying. Ah well, just a poem conveying my reaction.
Thank you for visiting.  Yes, one of those times indeed. Sorry about your worrying news; hope all works out and the person is recuperating without troubles. I am glad you are still in motion; I am having to really prod myself to get back into the stream. Seems there is no end to the surges, so to speak and I don't swim as strongly these days...:)

Re:
Sadly true, CC. I imagine economic factors are involved too - never heard of anyone of modest means being "chosen"...Thank you for commenting.

For some years I lived next door to someone
who went to school with Sir Mick and who was not impressed with him. I think Keith Richards is quite entertaining and none of it is to be taken seriously. If I think of Keith Richards it is when I once arrived at Wembley Stadium only to find out the Rolling Stones gig was cancelled, and only to learn later that it was because Keef (sic) had injured his finger and couldn't play guitar. I saw them play later and they were great to see.
As for the news of people near and far it is one of those times. Someone close but far was injured in a serious accident recently which has distressed me and then a couple of friends have been lost. I too am quiet. I was supposed to be away schmoozing but instead am typing from my bed. But tomorrow i wil re-enter activity.

They will all soon be forgotten Ray as a woman told me the other day "My father was a Sir, but it doesn't mean much these days.'  'Nothing means much really.' I told her. 'Everything is commercialized.' Once one had to do a heroic deed to gain a knighthood so we are led to believe but I wonder if they are the only deeds we have been allowed to remember.
