yeah this whole thing just really made me angry... these little kids... it
is embarassing enough any time you have to stand up in front of the whole class - I remember being that age how hard it was to have to stand up in front of everyone... but to have that kind of thing going on... TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE!

At first, I was thinking, maybe she believed this would drive the point home better(that slavery is unacceptable), if they experienced it themselves, even through play acting. I came to that conclusion, initially & not saying I condoned it, just trying to understand her side. Of course, this was when I thought it was high school students. When I read they were nine & ten, I shook my head. We're really not that far past the civil rights movement, in the scheme of things. There are still many who, unfortunately, are being persecuted, solely for their skin color.
