May the peace beyond all understanding
sweep over you like a cool and healing breeze.
May it kiss your forehead
wipe your tears
fill you with unmeasured
blissful delight

I too like millions had a hard beginning and even became an addict which of course I blamed on past things, but it wasn't until I relized that all those things I blamed my addicton on wasn't using drugs, and I was that I began the road to recovery...I don't speak of them anymore as the blame for the way my life turns out, I must take control, not them. Hope this helps you in some small way.

It is far more than any person's share of trauma. Nothing can change the past, of course, and I suspect that the only one who can alter your life now will be
you. There is help out there, of course, but it will eventually be you who will make the decision as to how and when you break from this web, and to make things better for those who will follow you. I believe your writing about it (which you do very well!!) is part of your healing.
