'I seen my opportunities and I took them' Sounds like any normal politician to me, but it does remind me of any pool player who conveniently forgets to call a ball and no matter what pocket it falls into, will say 'I'll take it, anyway.'

I think you covered everything majroj, plus a few things I didn't understand.  What is a 'wardheeler', for instance?

Your post reminded me of things that happened in Scotland where foreign firms were given millions to set up factories to give the locals work (I lived in one of those 'no work' areas) and then they skedaddled after a couple of years without any advance warning.
