I dont' believe
the reason it's illegal is because it "offends" certain groups. I think it has more to do with allowing people in those groups to gain self-esteem by being able to judge others and say "I'm not like that". If we made those behaviors legal, then where can they turn to get that "holier than thou" feeling?
