I want to see and hear the little ones dance and sing.  There must be a YouTube video of it somewhere.

A friend visited Salem
in the summer and was horrified by the history; we also live near to a place in the Fens called Warboys where witchhunts were evident - it's a scary place today and you can still sense the tension

This is all highly fascinating and even plausible.  The Crete may explain why they were light, but it does look a little suspicious that they may have gotten some Germanic blood mixed in some mysterious way, that no one was responsible for.  I have never heard anyone even hint at a real explanation for these phenomenon. really great!!!

Well you have really researched this well Kabu, I have often searched for this missing link, I suppose if the little folk married and had more little folk, like bantams as opposed to chicken. It all makes sense and then someone thought of immortalizing them as Gnomes, I can see where you are coming from. Well done please continue.

A theme throughout history have been a demographic being blamed. I wonder if that behavior will ever cease.
