Interesting  EE. at least I expect it was from honest toil I knew a lady who tried to get a divorce from her husband. The solicitor asked him is it true you don't ever have a bath. 'No' the worried husband replied I have one about every six months. She then tried to get him on non marriageable duties but she didn't push that one. So they came back home. I have loads of true grime stories so I appreciate your kindness when dealing with your gentleman.

UA --- messes?  my goodness but this one is rich with the mess - I am imagining a rat's foot (little pink toes and scrawny and all) and the mess left behind on the bed? What?? (actually, I must tell you this...I assisted an old farmer one time and I recall much from this one entry  - I felt sorry for him...he would make his little cot in the morning so I wouldn't see his 'sheets' --- and I would gather all his clothes mid week to launder and he would have already cloroxed his linens and his skivvies - and he'd want to put them to flap in the wind...yes, this reminded me of much ~ I enjoyed my time with this gentleman rancher... and his longhorn steer and cows~ such a humble and honest thrill it was.  I was his 'caregiver' for a bit; he had had a stroke) E.E.
