A Sacred Place
I don't think God ever intended for us to make a "place" our focal point. He used the temple in the days of old to foretell of a future relationship that would open up between God & us because of the supreme sacrifice of His Son Jesus Christ.
Psalms 22:3 say it well:
But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel.
The Holy God of Israel finds his sacred place in our praise of Him.
Oh how precious!
