Hey Girl

Keep focused on the positive, that is how we got through last year.  Things will get better.

I barely remember a time without ATMs myself. They've been around for a while now

.And there are some real nice pay phones out there, some the accept credit cards even.

Of course I can't figure out how the world got by without cellphones and the internet, yet I grew up without them

In twenty years when our children write something like this, what is it they are going to be comparing?

Now you did write this with that old man voice but forgot to say 'In my day we didn't no fancy stuff like you kids get spoiled with.'

we had a pink telephone
we had to have a really long cord on the phone so we cold go out in the garage to talk--and those party lines....

It's amazing all of the technological changes that have occurred in such a short period of time.

SpitFire, not only the old rotary dial housephones but also
"partylines"...I can remember having to check to see if our partyline was using the phone before I could call anyone....

I've been having a rough few days too Spit.  You can email me any time you want if you wanna talk.  Roommie and I are going to see EAT PRAY LOVE in a bit.  In these times, these things are all we have/can do.  I wish I could bring you along!

I recently lost my home in the mortgage fiasco, but like you I choose to see the good things going on and bide my time until things improve! With my son headed to Afghanistan soon, there is nothing more precious than life to me now as you noted in your own children! We will all get through the tough times and rebound, I believe it totally! And you are so right, we are truly spoiled by the technology! sam

what can I say to you that will make you feel better?
It's all been said in varying amounts at different times
-scraping along is a particular drag, sweetheart...how well I know
this...the one of us has a job thing? Been there a few times
and may end up there a few more...you're a fighter, Heidi, I know you are;
not from what you lay out in your blogs so much but from what we have
shared in the past...down and scant of cash/food/toilet paper: a
low point, sure...you have the strength to get past the whole beat-down
moment, Lady...how often have I said that I believe in you?
Not just saying it to waste the space, my friend...don't let a lean stretch
be the victor, Lady...you are the strength which will keep everyone
and everything in your Life above the surface...I have said a few Earth to God
words regarding you more than a few times...Heidi...look around...I've got corn
and you? the beach...

                             Always
